“SOFT WHAT? RUBBER WHAT?”

June 9, 2008 | Newsroom

At Hanes Erie, Inc. we offer two distinct variations of a tactile coating. One is known as “Soft Feel” or “Soft Touch”. The other is what we call “Rubbery Feel”.

First the “Soft Feel/Touch”:

This type of coating can be applied to many types of plastic and even to glass. It’s distinction is that it feels to the touch like velvet…smooth, soft, sensual.

It is a step up from an ordinary coating, such as a frost or tinted color that may be applied to a container. When held in your hand it immediately sends a signal to your brain that this is a first class item.
It prompts one to further investigate the product that is inside the container. The coating is a little more expensive to apply but worth the extra cost in distinguishing your product from all others.
It is available only in a clear so it must be applied over a molded in color and, also, any decorating to be placed on the container.

And now, what is “Rubbery Feel”?

Unlike the above coating, the “Rubbery Feel” is just what it sounds like…rubber feel. Just about everyone has experienced the rubber feel of the handle bar grips on a bicycle. Well this coating simulates that feel and, again, your brain receives a signal from your hands that the item is covered in a rubber like finish. It feels as if you have a good grip on the item. Like it won’t be easy to let it slip from your hands, a very firm and warm feeling. Usually the experience is that you want to continue to hold the item in your hand and “play” with it.

The “Rubbery Feel” can be applied over most plastic substrates and glass. It does, like the “Soft Feel”, cost a little more but the resultant item, for marketing purposes, clearly stands out from other containers.
Samples of the “Soft Feel” and the “Rubbery Feel” can be had by contacting the Customer Service Department at Hanes Erie, Inc. www.haneserie.com. In addition, if you would like to see the coatings applied to your own container simply let one of our wonderful Customer Service people know that and they will do all necessary to get you your coated samples. Maybe they will even deliver them to your office? Who knows. We like to please our clients!
