Limited Brands Wins Environmental Award
Hanes Erie, Inc., an ISO 14001:2004(E) Registered Company salutes another ISO 14001 company: Limited Brands received an Environmental Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay Transport Partnership for its leadership in conserving energy and lowering greenhouse gas emissions from its transportation and freight activities. Included in these activities is a project that has resulted in the switch of 30% of inbound freight from truck to rail. By utilizing rail instead of truck, the company has been able to significantly reduce diesel fuel consumption and emissions. This program has been so successful that Limited Brands is working with additional partners to expand the program.
